i need help!!

How do I photograph objects with a very high shine on their surface without getting reflections?

I am at my wit's end.

(nice cufflinks though eh? made these for my husband. they are domed sterling silver discs with a littel freehand heart cut out of each one. the chain link and toggle bar are soldered to the reverse, suitable for single or double cuffs. i want to make more of these but i HATE photographing them!)

I've not had much luck myself but it's not a necessary thing for me so I gave up (for a while, will get back to it later!). However, I would suggest one of those light tent collapsible thingies - most of them are completely enclosed and have a removable door for normal use or a slit in the door bit for shiny things - the only reflection will be the lens of your camera. They are not too expensive on ebay - I gave in and got one for about £15 including postage.

If you do go for a light tent - get some cheap extra lights - just a couple of desklamps and some of those daylight bulbs (they look blue but the light is correct) will make the world of difference and you won't need your flash.

Oh, and wear neutral coloured clothing so you don't become part of the reflection problem
